Baby food makin

My baby food making adventures. :) I go to the fresh food market and get most of the ingredients to make her food. This was probably one of the best money saving, and healthy choices I have made for my daughter. It gives me a great feeling knowing that I made her food fresh and It doesn't have a bunch of extras in it.

Making cereal for the baby. I used Irish oatmeal this time, which I have never used before. Start by cooking the oats

I always make her food in bulk that was I have plenty to last. Then I added come yummy coconut milk for flavor.

This time I put raisins in the food processor and I don;t think I'll ever do that again, because raisins are apparently really sticky. lol, But what I did was add the chopped up raisins and some cinnamon to half of the cereal. That way she doesn't get sick of the same old thing. I can add applesauce ,or pear sauce on some days, or some other fruits to give it a different flavor.

And the end result is 19 days of breakfast for around $5.00. I don't see why more people don't do this, It's not really that time consuming, and it's so good health wise for her. Plus it's easy on the wallet. :)

The road to weight loss

So I joined weight watchers like three weeks ago. I was doing very well at first but the points system just irritates me. I make everything from scratch and putting in every recipe for every meal was too much for me. I would rather spend that time playing with my daughter. or doing some house work.
So here I am trying to figure out how to kick start my weight loss. I already eat right, I have been really particular about that, we don't keep any junk food or frozen or boxed meals here. Working out is a struggle for me. I just don't have the motivation to do it.  *sigh* So here I am trying to find motivation. My husband saying "Fat girls take whatever they can get" was quite a motivation to me, but even that didn't last very long. Hopefully I can discover something that works for me.

I'm back :)

I've been gone fr a while but now I'm back. My husband came home in March and got to meet our daughter for the first time, she was 5 months old. It was the most amazing moment in my entire life. My favorite thing to do is watch them play together. I think I've finally decided what direction I want to take this blog. My adventures of being a mommy, and trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

We moved to Georgia in June. Hopefully the Army doesn't move us again for along time. Savannah is beautiful and I feel way less stressed out just being here. We lived in a hotel for 4 long months before we got our house, so I wasn't able to do everything as I wanted to. I can happily say that I have my daughter back in cloth diapers. It took me a while to find ones that worked for us but I found that prefolds with the Thirsties covers were what worked for us.http://www.thirstiesbaby.com/products/diapers/diaper-cover/

Also I have been making all of Melanie's baby food. Ilike that I know everything that is going into my child's mouth. No preservatives, no artificial fillers, no... crap! I'm hoping to make good eating one of her top habits throughout her life. Other than that I'm just enjoying my little girl and soaking up every moment of her at this age because I know she won't stay this small for very long.
